Boy Scouts of America Health Career Explorers Club Learning for Life (HCEC)

Eligibility requirements

Greater Richmond area students in grades nine, 10, 11 and 12 who are interested in exploring health careers.

Program description

HCEC is an after-school academic year program that meets once a month for 90-minute workshops. Participants learn about health career opportunities through facility unit tours and leadership development opportunities offered through the Boy Scouts of America, Heart of VA Council.

HCEC is a From Jump Rope to Stethoscope (FJR2S) program. FJR2S is a community outreach program offered through the VCU Health System Human Resources’ Office of Workforce Development and Strategy. The goal of this program is to increase the diversity within the health care workforce and to create the VCU Health System workforce of the future.
